We are looking for an IT Manager to join our company, working on a project in the software development sector, remotely from Portugal. 
In this role, you will provide hands-on management of all IT functions within the organization. This is an individual contributor position with no direct reports, requiring a 100% hands-on approach to technical execution, IT operations, and daily support. You will ensure that IT aligns with business goals, supports compliance requirements, optimizes resources, and maintains a secure and efficient technology environment.
The position is 100% remote, with flexibility in working hours on occasion.

Tasks:
  • 1. Infrastructure & Systems
    • Manage and optimize the company’s Azure Cloud infrastructure.
    • Support the development team with DevOps knowledge (e.g., deployment automation, infrastructure setup for new components).
    • Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of IT systems to meet agreed SLAs.
    • Monitor cloud resources, focusing on cost efficiency and performance.
    • Develop, test, and maintain business continuity, disaster recovery plans, and backup procedures.
    • Drive continuous improvement of IT infrastructure.
  • 2. Information Security & Compliance
    • Maintain comprehensive information security policies and procedures.
    • Conduct risk assessments, security audits, and maintain incident response readiness.
    • Protect the organization against cyber threats and data breaches.
    • Support SOC2 and PCI compliance efforts from a technical perspective.
  • 3. IT Management & Procurement
    • Develop and implement the IT strategy aligned with business objectives.
    • Provide technical input to leadership for IT investments and infrastructure needs.
    • Execute and deliver internal IT projects from planning to final deployment.
    • Manage the IT budget, forecasting costs, monitoring expenditures, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
    • Source, procure, and manage IT hardware/software, vendor contracts, and service agreements.
  • 4. IT Operations & Daily Support
    • Handle day-to-day IT operations to ensure reliable technology service delivery.
    • Provide hands-on IT support, troubleshooting, and maintenance for staff issues in a timely manner.
    • Maintain an accurate inventory of all IT assets (laptops, servers, and peripherals).
    • Perform regular maintenance, updates, upgrades, and security enforcement on employee laptops and devices.
Requirements:
  • Autonomy: Given the remote working model, we need someone who is highly motivated, a selfstarter, well organized and comfortable interacting with a diverse range of colleagues, all of whom will be working remotely and across multiple time zones.
  • Team Player: Someone that works well with others and helps the entire team be successful on our common goals.
  • Technical Proficiency: Solid engineering background, preferably in Microsoft technology stacks and a deep hands-on knowledge of Cloud technologies and especially Azure.
  • Database Knowledge: Solid experience with SQL for either SQL Server or Azure SQL.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate complex technical details and work collaboratively with stakeholders and team members.
  • Hands-on attitude: Someone that is still comfortable with implementing all kinds of changes directly
  • Process Improvement mindset: Someone that is always looking for how to improve our infrastructure and IT management, including automation wherever possible.
  • Nice to Have:
  • Prior experience in similar roles with both Cloud and IT management.
  • Familiarity with tools like Jira, Confluence, GitHub and Teams.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity compliance frameworks.

  • Remote (from Portugal).
